Recycled Rimu Six-Drawer Chest Auckland
Six broad drawers, a solid top and no wasted detail. This recycled Rimu chest is built around useful storage, but the timber and proportions stop it from feeling purely utilitarian.
The two workshop views show the completed piece from the front and at an angle. That is enough to read the construction: three drawer rows, paired metal cup pulls, framed ends and a top that sits neatly over the case.
Storage furniture with a clear structure
Wide drawers suit folded clothing, linen and other everyday items that benefit from full-width access. Arranging them in three even rows gives the front a calm rhythm. The dark cup pulls add contrast without distracting from the Rimu grain.
At each side, the framed panel construction gives the chest a more substantial furniture character. The top projects slightly, creating a defined edge and a useful surface above the storage.

Why recycled Rimu works here
Recycled Rimu carries natural variation across the drawer fronts and surrounding frame. Rather than trying to make every board identical, the build lets those shifts remain visible within a disciplined layout.
That combination works well for bedroom or living-area storage: familiar, practical form on the one hand, distinctive solid timber on the other. The chest can sit comfortably with other furniture without looking mass-produced.
Custom drawer units and bedroom furniture
Made-to-measure storage can be developed around the available wall, preferred drawer arrangement and the items you actually need to store. Approximate dimensions, room photographs and examples of hardware or timber tone are useful starting points for an enquiry.
