Large Swamp Kauri Resin Tabletop Auckland
This top contains a lot of movement: sweeping Kauri grain, large natural openings and deep dark areas around the slab. The outer boundary, however, stays clean and rectangular. That tension between wild timber and controlled outline gives the piece its strength.

Preserving an irregular slab inside a practical shape
The Kauri does not fill every corner of the rectangle. Dark resin occupies the spaces around natural edges and within openings, allowing the original timber profile to remain visible.
This approach creates a continuous furniture surface while keeping the slab's irregular form as the central feature. From above, the contrast is immediate; from an angle, the glossy finish adds depth.
Surface preparation and control
Large resin-and-timber tops need careful containment during the build. The gallery shows the piece within a workshop frame and supported across its width. These practical stages help establish the final outline and keep the surface manageable during finishing.
The completed views reveal strong figure across the Kauri and a crisp boundary around the top. A base and final use are not shown, so the article stays focused on the documented tabletop.
