Custom Swamp Kauri Boardroom Table Auckland
A boardroom table has two jobs. It needs to handle everyday meetings, and it needs enough presence to define the room. This Swamp Kauri table does that through scale, a long live-edge top and a dark base that stays visually quiet underneath.
The gallery moves from the original slab through preparation and polishing to the installed table. It is a useful record of how commercial furniture can retain the character of one-off timber.
From broad slab to working surface
Early images show the irregular edge and unfinished face. The top is then shaped and refined into a long, practical meeting surface while keeping a natural line along the sides.
Finishing brings out broad colour changes and darker figure through the Kauri. The result is expressive up close, yet the long rectangular proportions remain clear when viewed across the room.

A base that supports without competing
The dark linear base provides a strong visual foundation and leaves the timber as the main event. Its open frame also creates useful space beneath the table rather than enclosing the centre.
For boardroom use, base placement needs to work with seating and access around the perimeter. The installed photographs show the finished relationship between top, support and room.

A boardroom-table brief should include room dimensions, expected seating, technology or cable requirements, access constraints and the preferred timber character. These practical details can be resolved alongside the visual design.
